Terms of Service
Last updated 4 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Peelmark for your use of the service. They are written to be read, so they are in plain English rather than legal language.
What Peelmark is
Peelmark is a web service that removes the background from an image and returns a PNG with a transparent background. You upload an image, we send it to a third-party image-processing provider, and we return the result to you.
The service is operated by Peelmark. You can reach us at support@peelmark.com.
Who may use it
You may use Peelmark if you are able to form a binding contract where you live. The service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you are using it for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms on its behalf.
Accounts
You can use Peelmark without an account. If you want an account, sign-in is through Google only - we never see or store a password.
You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else is using it, tell us at support@peelmark.com.
Free use and the trial
These are the free allowances as the service currently applies them:
- Without an account: one image a day, and the finished image carries a visible Peelmark mark.
- With an account: a one-time trial of 3 days from when the account is created, allowing 5 images a day with no mark.
- After the trial: a subscription is required. There is no ongoing free allowance once the trial has ended.
The trial runs once per account and cannot be restarted. We may change these allowances; if we reduce them we will say so on the site beforehand.
Paid plans
Plans are sold by the month: 50 images for $5, 100 images for $10, 200 images for $20. Each plan is billed monthly and renews automatically until you cancel.
Your allowance resets at the start of each calendar month, in UTC. Unused images do not roll over. Because the reset is by calendar month rather than on the date you subscribed, a subscription started part way through a month gives you that month's full allowance for the remainder of it, and a fresh allowance on the first of the next.
Prices are in US dollars and may change. If a price changes we will give you notice before it affects a renewal.
Billing and cancellation
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
You can cancel at any time from the Manage subscription link on your account page, which opens Paddle's customer portal. Cancelling stops future charges. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not prorated.
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Peelmark to:
- upload or process anything illegal where you are, or where we operate;
- upload any content that sexualises a minor. We will report this to the appropriate authorities and permanently close the account;
- upload images you have no right to use;
- harass or abuse anyone, including through images you create with the service;
- work around the usage limits, for example by creating accounts repeatedly or by clearing browser storage to reset a free allowance;
- resell the service, or access it with automated tools, scrapers or scripts rather than the website itself.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and may do so without notice where the breach is serious.
Your images and your rights to them
You keep ownership of your images and of the results. We claim no rights over them.
You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to receive your image, send it to our image-processing provider, produce the result, and return it to you. Where you are signed in, that permission also covers keeping a copy so your history works. We do not use your images to train anything, and we do not sell them.
On the free tier without an account, results carry a visible Peelmark mark. Paid plans do not.
What happens to the files afterwards is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Availability and results
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, or that any particular image will come out well. Background removal is automatic, and how good the result is depends a great deal on the image: fine detail such as hair, low contrast between subject and background, and unusual lighting all make it harder.
We may change, suspend or stop any part of the service. If we stop it permanently while you have an active subscription, we will tell you and stop billing you.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent the law allows, Peelmark is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Where we are liable, our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Peelmark at any time, and cancel a subscription as described above. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or if we are required to by law.
If we close your account without cause while you have paid for a period, we will refund the unused part of that period.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top and post a notice on the site. If a change materially reduces what you get, we will give notice before it takes effect for an existing subscription. Carrying on using the service after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
If you are a consumer, you keep any rights that the law where you live gives you and that cannot be given away by agreement. Nothing here takes those away.
